🚌 Shuttle secured: we've arranged a bus for all of our guests, starting and ending at the Residence Inn by Marriott Charleston Riverview. Shuttle stops are marked below. Parking at the Carolina Girl is virtually nonexistent, so please plan to ride the bus unless driving is truly necessary.
The bus departs the Residence Inn by Marriott Charleston Riverview (90 Ripley Point Dr) at 1:00 PM sharp. Please be in the lobby a few minutes early so we can roll out on time.
The shuttle drops off right at the ceremony (30 Mary Murray Dr). Find your seat, take in the scenery, and enjoy the beautiful Charleston afternoon.
The wedding ceremony begins in the park. Exchange of vows and rings surrounded by the natural beauty of Hampton Park.
Following the ceremony, we'll take a few moments for portraits in the park. Feel free to mingle, explore, and enjoy the surroundings while we capture some memories.
The bus picks up at Hampton Park and carries everyone to the Carolina Girl Yacht (2408 Maybank Hwy, Johns Island). This is the main way to the reception. Rideshares work in a pinch, but parking at the Carolina Girl is extremely limited, so please do not plan to drive.
Guests board the Carolina Girl Yacht. Cocktails and light bites will be served on deck as you get settled in. The boat departs at 4:00 PM sharp, so don't miss out!
We set sail. Dinner, drinks, dancing, and toasts as the Carolina Girl cruises the Charleston harbor. Enjoy sunset views of the peninsula and celebrate with us on the water.
The final hour of the reception is dockside. Grab a drink, enjoy the evening air, and decide whether to call it a night or keep the party going. The shuttle bus will be waiting dockside from 7:00 on, so feel free to head back whenever suits you.
The night isn't over yet. We're still working out the details, but there will be an after celebration for those who want to keep the festivities going. The bus departs at 8:00, returning most guests to the hotel and dropping the rest downtown to keep celebrating with the bride and groom. Stay tuned, more info coming soon.
Our ceremony takes place at Hampton Park, one of Charleston's most beautiful green spaces. Guests should plan to arrive by 1:30 PM for a 2:00 PM ceremony start. The park is a short drive or rideshare from downtown. 30 Mary Murray Dr, Charleston, SC 29455.
Our reception takes place aboard the Carolina Girl, a private yacht docked in Johns Island. The evening is a full harbor cruise with dinner, drinks, dancing, and sweeping views of the peninsula as the sun sets over the water. Boarding begins at 3:45 PM. Don't be late, or we will sail the high seas without you! 2408 Maybank Hwy, Johns Island, SC 29455.
The closest airport is Charleston International (CHS), about 20 minutes from the venue. Direct flights are available from many major cities, or connect through Charlotte (CLT) or Atlanta (ATL). If you're driving, Charleston sits just off I-26 and is roughly 2 hours from Columbia, 4 from Charlotte, and 5 from Atlanta. However you get here, be safe and enjoy the journey!
Update: our room block is fully booked. The group rate at the Residence Inn by Marriott Charleston Riverview is gone, and unfortunately we can't add more rooms. Sorry to anyone who was still deciding!
The good news is that Charleston is not short on places to sleep. The Residence Inn (90 Ripley Point Dr) may still have rooms at its standard rate, and there are plenty of other hotels, inns, and Airbnb or VRBO rentals within easy reach. West Ashley keeps you close to the shuttle pickup, and downtown puts you in the middle of the food, the bars, and the after celebration.
One thing to plan around: the wedding-day shuttle bus still starts and ends at the Residence Inn. If you stay somewhere else, plan to meet the bus there or arrange your own ride to Hampton Park.

The dress code is cocktail attire. Think elegant but not black tie. The ceremony is outdoors at Hampton Park, so keep comfort in mind. For the reception on the yacht, please note that sharp or stiletto heels are not permitted on deck. Wedges, block heels, or flats are all great choices and will serve you well for both parts of the day.

Sadly, no. Our room block at the Residence Inn by Marriott Charleston Riverview is now fully booked, and we aren't able to add more rooms at the group rate. Don't panic though. Charleston has no shortage of hotels, inns, and Airbnb or VRBO rentals, and October is a great time to be here. Just remember that the shuttle bus picks up and drops off at the Residence Inn, so if you stay elsewhere, plan to meet it there or make your own way to Hampton Park.
The short answer is no. The longer answer is also no. The Carolina Girl cruises at a leisurely pace in calm harbor waters, staying well within sight of the Charleston coastline. This is not a deep-sea voyage. Speeds are slow, the route is sheltered, and weather conditions are carefully monitored before every outing. You may find yourself a little unsteady after a few cocktails, but that's entirely on you and frankly expected.
No. The Carolina Girl is a fully licensed and inspected charter vessel with all required safety equipment on board. You will not be issued a lifejacket, and we ask that you do not wear one over your cocktail attire, though we do admire the commitment to personal safety. The crew is experienced, the waters are calm, and you are in very good hands. Just leave the orange vest at home.
Due to the capacity of the yacht, seating is limited and we're only able to accommodate guests specifically named on your invitation. If your invitation includes a plus one, it will say so. If you have questions, please reach out to us directly.
We love your little ones, but due to space and safety constraints on the yacht, we've chosen to keep the celebration adult-only (18+) with limited exceptions. We hope this gives you a chance to enjoy a well-deserved night out!
The reception aboard the Carolina Girl runs rain or shine. The yacht has a beautiful indoor salon that can comfortably accommodate all guests. For the outdoor ceremony at Hampton Park, we will communicate any weather-related changes via this website closer to the date.
Yes! We'll have a full open bar throughout the reception with wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic options. Please plan accordingly and arrange a safe way home. Rideshare is plentiful in Charleston, and our shuttle bus will run guests back to the hotel (or downtown) at the end of the night. See the transportation plan for details.
